what I'm all about...
My greatest interest in life is people. Your well-being is important to me. We are all part of a collective that thrives best when we’re living emotionally healthy lives. I want to know everything I can about why we are the way we are. I have a deep interest and compassion for every individual’s story, so this is why I coach and also share my knowledge through writing.
I’ve always been drawn to working with people.
Much of my career has been in the human relations world and I’ve also spent a lot of my life working with people with disabilities, supporting grassroots organizations, and dedicating time to volunteerism. All of these experiences made me see how important it is to consider someone else’s original, sometimes fragile, and truly valid point of view. I’ve coached countless individuals through challenges in their career and personal lives, and witnessing the humanity of it all has taught me so much about the beautiful spectrum of people who make up this world.
I believe that everyone has the right to be seen, heard, and valued.
I’m a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Life Coach and I’ve found that combining these practices has really been successful. These teachings have enabled me to come to terms with my own past traumas, choices, self-esteem challenges, and even my sexuality. I would be honoured to help you do the same. You can check out my offerings on my “work with me” page.
Together we let go of the past, step into the present, and create the future.
My “ask jenna” advice blog was born during the pandemic, while I was gifting distance coaching sessions to people in need. They were struggling in various ways, trying to grapple with life as it was unfolding, how things were changing, and also with typical life issues that persisted despite all of it.
I am grateful to those who have graciously offered their questions and stories to be shared here. My “askjenna“ column is where I hope to be paying it forward to all those who have helped and inspired me along my path in life. This service is completely free.
You can ask me (almost) anything and I won’t cringe.
Besides writing and coaching, I live a simple life, by the sea in Victoria, BC, Canada with my chef wife, Amanda, and our fearless leader, Darla the Pomeranian. We love to spend time with our family and friends, cook, eat, entertain, expand our spiritual practices, ride our bikes around the city, travel, spend time in the forest, and dream.
I gratefully acknowledge that I am working, playing, and living on the unceded land of the Lkwungen people.
